It takes lots of elements to be a successful voiceover artist– talent, coaching, and a team that works with you and for you. When you’re doing everything you can to make your business successful, it can be easy to neglect your personal health.

I know how easy it is to get caught up in work. Suddenly it’s 5 PM and you’ve been sitting hunched over at your computer for the better part of the day. But, for your health and wellness, it’s important to prioritize movement.

We all know that health is wealth, so here are our favorite ways to fit exercise into our daily routines.

Breathwork & Meditation

To keep your voice and your mind sharp, we can’t recommend breathwork and meditation enough. Breathwork pumps the brakes on stress responses by eliciting the body’s relaxation response. Check out this breathwork technique by Bob Doyle here.

Yoga

Whether it’s a sunrise Yoga class by the lake (my favorite) or your Yoga YouTuber of choice (we love Yoga With Adriene), you can’t go wrong with a session any time of day. Yoga is great for stretching the parts of our body that desperately need movement after long days of working in the booth, or sitting or sleeping in uncomfortable positions. When your body feels good and you can move freely, your work will be better and sound its best.

Getting Our Steps In

Keeping track of my steps has helped me meet my daily goal of 10,000 steps. It has also increased my overall movement and helps me incorporate small bursts of exercise into even the busiest of days. Have a meeting scheduled? Put your headphones in and go for a walk during it– your body will be grateful.

Not only is walking a simple and relaxing form of exercise, but it can also help keep your mind clear and balanced throughout the day.

In combination, these strategies can positively impact your overall health and wellness, which is good for you and your business. We know you’ll notice a difference, we definitely have!
