In the Voiceover industry, it can be hard to stand out. Talent ask us all the time: How can I set myself apart and get noticed?
One strategic area to focus is building a strong social media presence. Posting on social media infrequently isn’t enough if you want to leverage it as a marketing tool for your business.
Here are some of our top tips for curating engaging profiles:
- Align your social media strategy with your brand messaging.
A powerful personal brand is the perfect jumping off point for ideating unique content. What does your brand say about you and what you have to offer? When you have that figured out, you can highlight those qualities in each post. Maybe one of your hobbies that both informs your branding and adds an element of entertainment or enrichment to your content would make a great weekly series across platforms. Your branded font and colors can be used for any graphics you’re creating. Keeping your messaging consistently on-brand will allow your audience to identify you in their crowded feeds.
2. Consistency is key!
Across platforms, the ever changing algorithms reward consistent posting. In addition to keeping your audience entertained, posting frequently will get more eyes on your content. Set a realistic schedule for yourself. It’s better to post reliably, twice a week, then it is to sporadically post for every day, and then log off for weeks at a time.
3. Create a content calendar.
Coming up with varied ideas can be one of the most difficult parts about staying reliable with building your online presence. One way to help ease your mental load is taking the time to plan out a few week’s worth of content at a time. That way, if in-the-moment ideas pop up, you can have ‘bonus’ material to share, but if not, you have other planned concepts to fall back on.
