Seasons Greetings, Voiceover Achievers! What a wonderful season it’s been. Looking back on the past year and all the brands we’ve worked to build, one element of personal branding stands out as more important than ever before: social media.

Recently, some of our very own CSM talents collaborated in creating original social media content in the form of a Holiday Radio Play. This is just one unique way our talent are using their brands and working together to build their social media presence! Enjoy the Holiday Radio Play here.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and even Tik Tok are all easy (and free) ways to promote and convey your personal brand to your audience. The onset of the pandemic elevated the importance of having a digital presence that speaks for you and represents the key facets of your personal brand. Since we can’t charm people in person the way we used to, we must get comfortable using our digital presence to represent our personal brands.

If you’re struggling with how to build your brand digitally, or maybe you wonder which platforms will best suit your needs, we’re here to help.

4 Tips for Building Your Powerful Personal Brand

The new year is a time of new beginnings, and it’s the perfect opportunity to curate your personal voiceover brand. While it might seem overwhelming, we’ve got a few tips to help you get started.

  1. Identify what makes you unique– In this competitive industry, standing out from the crowd is a good thing. Remember that your brand personality, just like your voice, must be appealing, authentic, and specialized to you.
  2. Define your audience and engage them After identifying what your personal VO niche will be, engage with potential clients in your specific demographic. This way, you’ll be building meaningful connections with less competition.
  3. Optimize your social media– building an online presence that highlights your brands’ uniqueness will elevate your brand and make you more easily identified by clients. Posting consistently and engaging with industry professionals will build your credibility online and off.
  4. Let your brand speak for you– It’s often said that personal branding is the story people tell about you when you’re not in the room. This can work to your advantage. Leaving clients with a positive experience and doing great VO work consistently will help you grow your personal brand.

Celebrities Succeeding at Personal Branding Right Now

Elon Musk– You might know him from Tesla, PayPal, or SpaceX, but he’s also famous for curating an incredible personal brand. According to this Medium article, Musk emphasizes the importance of creating a memorable personal brand. Don’t be afraid to show and use your personality to stand out. Musk exemplifies the idea of championing his own brand on Twitter, where he has amassed over 65 million followers, many of whom engage with him on the platform. His accessibility on social media has become part of his personal brand and made him stand out among other celebrities.

Beyoncé– Perhaps no celebrities’ personal brand is as recognizable as Queen Bey’s. She’s built a music empire that’s rivaled by few other artists today. From Destiny’s Child to her solo era, Beyoncé has been consistent in telling her story and marketing it with authenticity. Whether she’s launching a new album or a sportswear line, she uses her personal brand to successfully convey her product and connect with her fans.

Cristiano Ronaldo– Perhaps you know Ronaldo as one of the most famous soccer players alive, but he also holds the title for the most-followed individual on Instagram, with over 369 million followers. Ronaldo was able to parlay his career as a professional soccer player into an iconic personal brand. Known to people in countries all over the world, his strong name recognition allowed him to secure a lifetime deal with Nike worth $1 billion in 2016. His inspirational personal brand means that he is deeply committed to quality and luxury.

Kim Kardashian– Love her or hate her, Kim Kardashian has an undeniably strong personal brand. While her personal brand has morphed over time with her celebrity, she’s been incredibly successful at marketing herself and her various business ventures. Kardashian has an astonishing 267 million followers on Instagram alone and is the founder of KKW Beauty, Inc. and Skims, a shapewear company. Her visibility and accessibility make her one of the most recognizable celebrities and personal brands alive.
